The 7th Sea 3rd Edition role-playing game Kickstarter, developed by Studio Agate and licensed through Chaosium, successfully launched and was fully funded in under 30 minutes. This new edition advances the setting timeline in Théah by 10 years to 1678 and is designed to be backwards compatible with 2nd Edition materials. The mechanics have been overhauled to focus on cinematic action using a modernized “Roll & Keep” system that incorporates two colors of d10s: one for Action and one for Wound dice. Available pledge tiers range from a PDF Collection (~~$70 USD) to Deluxe Box Sets (~~$187 – $280 USD), and the campaign is set to conclude on April 9th, 2026.

The DreadBall All-Stars Kickstarter by Mantic Games offers a new, standalone sci-fi sports board game that veterans Jervis Johnson and Alessio Cavatore designed to be a “full-contact version of NBA Basketball”. The game streamlines action for fast-paced, 60-minute matches by removing extensive team-building in favor of pre-assembled miniatures and fixed rosters. It features tactical play resolved via challenge rolls and “DreadBall cards,” multiple unique arenas that dynamically change the rules, and a new Battle Royale mode for 3 to 6 players. Mantic is providing the complete game and best value upfront, having opted out of traditional stretch goals, with the campaign concluding on April 9, 2026.

The Warmachine 3D: Lost, Damned & Salvation campaign by Steamforged Games is running on the MyMiniFactory FronTier platform, acting as a limited-time discounted pre-order for official, 3D-printable STL files. The campaign offers files for three *Warmachine* armies currently playable in the MK4 edition ruleset: Grymkin, Infernals, and Convergence of Cyriss. Customers can purchase a Single Army for $150 or the All-In Bundle for $299. The models will eventually be released on the standard MyMiniFactory store at a higher individual price after the 14-day FronTier campaign concludes.

Tunnels & Trolls: A New Age is a Kickstarter reboot of the classic 1975 heroic fantasy TTRPG, published by Rebellion Unplugged, which aims to be a simpler, less confusing alternative to D\&D. The system uses D6 dice pools with “Exploding Dice” for fast, chaotic conflict resolution, prioritizing luck and risk over optimized builds. While the system itself is described as simple and robust, the reviewer expressed mixed feelings due to the Quickstart adventure. The introductory quest—clearing rats from a basement—was criticized for its dullness and inclusion of archaic design choices, such as requiring a skill roll just to open a door. The campaign offers a core rulebook, a campaign book, a city setting book, and solo adventures.

Catalyst Game Labs has announced BattleTech: Gothic, a standalone, themed-box expansion for the long-running BattleTech tabletop game. Departing from its traditional sci-fi roots, this new installment introduces a grimdark setting reminiscent of Warhammer 40,000, featuring biomechanical monsters known as “Abominations” and heavily ornamented mechs. This release is the first in the BattleTech Continuum, an initiative meant to explore alternative takes on the BattleTech universe, with future projects including Rockets and RayGuns and an anime-inspired installment. While BattleTech: Gothic retains the franchise’s core gameplay, it incorporates new aesthetics and mechanics to match its darker tone. Despite excitement from some fans, others remain skeptical about the shift, questioning its necessity and Catalyst’s allocation of resources.

Mantic Games has launched Kings of War Champions, a new 28mm rank-and-flank miniatures game designed for quick, accessible play. Set in the Kings of War universe, Champions simplifies army-building by offering pre-assembled “Company” boxes, making it an easy entry point for newcomers. The Faith and Fury starter set includes two opposing forces—one led by the demonic Bloody Cardinal and the other by the noble Alanis Sallustis—along with miniatures, rules, and gaming accessories. Additional army boxes expand the roster, including goblins, northern warriors, and shadowy Twilight Kin. While some players welcome the accessibility, others question its necessity in an already niche market. Nonetheless, Champions aims to attract new players and provide a structured alternative to the more flexible Kings of War Ambush.

Blizzard Entertainment’s classic real-time strategy game StarCraft is being adapted into a miniatures game by Polish publisher Archon Studio, with an initial release set for 2026 and a series of board games planned for 2027. The StarCraft franchise, known for its iconic factions—the Terran, Zerg, and Protoss—has had a lasting impact on the gaming world, especially in esports. Archon, a well-established name in the tabletop industry, has experience with high-quality miniatures and board games based on popular video game franchises. While details on the scale and mechanics of the game remain scarce, a livestream presentation on April 3 is expected to provide more information.

Privateer Press has provided a long-awaited update on the Monsterpocalypse miniatures game, outlining plans to transition its production to an on-demand 3D printing service following the failure of Mythic Games’ Monsterpocalypse board game Kickstarter. Despite the setback, Privateer remains committed to the game’s community by offering digital STL files and printable game components for players. Although no new content is currently planned for the miniatures game, the company is expanding the Monsterpocalypse universe through a planned Monsterpocalypsonomicon Kickstarter for 5e and exploring other gaming formats, including digital adaptations and fiction. While challenges remain, Privateer is dedicated to keeping the Monsterpocalypse experience alive and growing.

The Weekly LIVE 191 – Trench Crusade, D&D Streaming Service, Mantic Vault and Steamforged Games Cuts Staff

Tuomas Pirinen, the creator of Mordheim, is looking to bring a brand-new 32mm game to the tabletop soon. Trench Crusade is going to be a brutal, grimdark skirmish game set in an alternative version of our own world around the time of World War I. The collaborative effort has been in the works for around six months and Pirinen is working alongside Mike Franchina and James Sheriff to bring this world to life on the tabletop. With a pedigree in such a stunning skirmish game like Mordheim, it made sense for Pirinen to be involved in designing a new skirmish game.

Hasbro’s eOne revealed the Dungeons & Dragons Adventures FAST Channel, a new 24-hour D&D content streaming service, coming in summer 2023, as reported by Variety.

The new channel is Hasbro’s latest attempt to capitalize on the success of the Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves movie. It will be an ad-supported, free to use streaming service that will be entirely dedicated to D&D. Some of shows featured on this service will include original series such as Encounter Party (based on the podcast of same name), Faster, Purple Worm! Kill! Kill! (improv comedy show), and Heroes’ Feast (cooking competition show). There will also be older content, like the classic Dungeons & Dragons animated series that originally aired from 1983 to 1985, as well as live gameplay content from top D&D creators and influencers.

Mantic Games have fired up their newest venture for you to sign up for and get involved with. If you’re interested in 3D Printing then you might want to delve into the newly revealed Mantic Vault. The Vault is very similar to other options out there for 3D Printing fans. You can sign up and get access to a monthly bundle of miniatures that are inspired by a variety of the games that Mantic Games produce. For example, during this month you can get your hands on two different fleets for Armada plus some miniatures for Kings Of War’s Halflings and Riftforged Orcs.

Steamforged Games recently slashed one-third of its workforce in a recent round of redundancies. They told Dicebreaker that the losses were part of a “restructure”, but those affected say it goes deeper. According to an anonymous former worker speaking to Dicebreaker via interview, nearly 20 employees at the high-profile board game publisher were told in early March their jobs would be lost to redundancies. The cuts reportedly hit every department, from design to 3D modelling and brand management, and predominantly affected newer hires who had worked at Steamforged Games less than two years.
