Reclaimer RPG by Chad Walker Kickstarter canceled due to photobashed artwork. Modiphius is producing 32mm miniatures for the World of Darkness RPG. Cubicle 7 Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader RPG Humble Bundle. Magpie Games, maker of Bluebeard’s Bride RPG, is currently having an online store sale. Blood of the Phoenix boxed set has new plastic Aeldari miniatures and is being split by Jeremy and Lyal. Probably unboxed as well. And your comments about our comments.

Episode 224: Alien RPG Cinematic Starter Review

Our in-depth review of the Alien RPG Cinematic Starter by Free League. More than 90 minutes of overview, analysis and some spoilers for the free PDF adventure, Chariot of the Gods. We start with a summary of the Year Zero System used in the game and how it differs from previous Free League releases like Forbidden Lands and Mechatron. There are also the stress, consumables and PVP mechanics that are unique to this system and setting. We discuss the use of props and sound effects and their effect on the sessions. We played through the adventure in 4 game sessions that are available on our YouTube and Twitch channels.

If you are curious about the Alien RPG and its system and setting this should give you a very thorough idea of how this game plays and if you want to bring it to your gaming table.

Lyal subs in for the now toothless Chris. Okinawa Comic-con happened. Modiphius is working on the Homeworld Revelations RPG based on the classic PC RTS game. Grimlord Games has a Kickstarter for Grim Dynasty, a Chinese-themed expansion for their Village Attacks boardgame. The new edition of Mercenaries, Spies and Private Eyes by Flying Buffaloe arrived and Lyal talks about solo adventures and the use of backstory for TTRPGs. We look to Good Bad Flicks on YouTube for RPG inspiration.

Reclaimer RPG by Chad Walker Kickstarter apologizes for pitting their creative departments against eachother in their pledge levels. Swordsfall by Brandon Dixon moves to IndieGoGo to support new artwork with Art Booster 1. Games Workshop will make Warhammer comics with Marvel. Idle Red Hands Weekly 027: CMON’s Time Machine, Wendy’s TTRPG and Girl Underground

A slightly more salty weekly episode. CMON holds a stealth garage sale in the guise of a campaign to create soundtracks and artbooks for its games. They are actually clearing out warehouse leftovers from previous campaigns. Wendy’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers has released a fantasy TTRPG as a well-designed and illustrated 97-page PDF called Feast of Legends. Critical Role held a sponsored livestream and we are all left wondering “Why?” Chris played a session of Girl Underground by Jesse Ross, creator of Trophy. Also tried the Forbidden Lands RPG by Free League.
