Monsters of the Multiverse collects 33 playable monster types from various sources already in print. This will be first available in a slipcase set of expansion books. It also marks the beginning of Wizards of the Coast removing default alignment from monsters and racial bonuses similar to the changes made in Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything. The Dune pre-production book of the unfilmed Jodorowsky Dune movie was sold at auction to a Dune-loving DAO. They tweeted their plans to develop an animated series and digitally scan, and then burn the book to be made into NFTs.

TSR drops their lawsuit against Wizards of the Coast, but leave their IndieGoGo campaign active. WotC files a lawsuit to end the trademark dispute Does this spell the end of TSR? Free League announces partnership with Demiplane to produce Free League Nexus digital toolset. This will support all of their RPGs and marks the third major company to appear on the platform. Like Pathfinder Nexus and World of Darkness Nexus it will be available in 2022. A major errata is released by Wizards of the Coast that makes several major changes to many of the books released for fifth edition. The most noticeable change is the move to remove all racial alignments. Asmodee is in negotiations to be sold to a video game company called Embracer group based in Sweden. The Weekly 065: Return of Heroquest, Honey & Hot Wax, Create for Mork Bork, 5E Racial Ability Rules Changes and the Year of Dune

Hasbro has revealed their plans to “reprint” Heroquest through their HasLab crowd-funding-like website. Honey & Hot Wax is an anthology of sex-positive roleplaying games. The collection of games varies from 2-player to games needing 6 to 12 players along with a facilitator or two. It is published by Pelgrane Press and was edited by Lucian Kahn and Sharang Biswas with a foreword by Naomi Clark of Consentacle. An open license for creating content for Mork Borg, the award-winning game published by Free League. The latest Adventurer’s League Guide contains new custom racial ability score rules. This gives us a preview of the new rules that Wizards of the Coast will be adding to 5E in the release of Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything coming soon. We lament the failure of 2020 as the year of Dune, with only the boardgame reprint being released while the Denis Villeneuve feature film and Modiphius 2d20 system will not be released until next year.
