MÖRK BORG is a blackened artpunk doomsday rpg about miserable bastards and heretics enduring a bleak, dying world. It’s a doom metal album of a game. A spiked flail to the face. Rules light, heavy everything else. It’s made by Pelle Nilsson of Ockult Örtmästare Games and Johan Nohr from Stockholm Kartell, and published by Free League Publishing.

PUTRESCENCE REGNANT is a MÖRK BORG bog crawl in LP vinyl format, yellow and black marbled. The gatefold cover doubles up as an impromptu GM screen with a map of Targ-Dungel, rules for traveling, capsizing and drowning, information about the roaming undead bog bodies and a random encounter table for each of the three distinct sections of the bog: The Royal Swamps, Killer’s Moor and The Rotlands.

Included in the record is also an 8-page insert full of content such as a map and description of the swamp hamlet Traurish, circa 20 minor locations as well as the three factions and their dwellings. Adding to this are creatures, swamp gas, foul smells and soggy death for hours upon hours of rotten gaming. The text will be written by Johan Nohr and Pelle Nilsson, and edited by Brian Yaksha of Rakehell fame. Before we call it a day, the relentless typo-hunters from MoonRat Conspiracy Jarrett Crader and Fiona Maeve Geist will dig into the text to ensure that no errors still lurk in the muck.

Treasures Of The Troll King: a MÖRK BORG Adventure is an RPG sewer-crawl adventure by Chris Bissette, with art by Johan Nohr. Galgenbeck is palimpsest. Tumour. A city built on the ruins of itself. Beneath the sewers the bones of the old city fester. The troll-king Niduk was exiled, driven into the depths to rot and die. Now twisted by hatred and rage he oversees the small domain he has carved for himself, in a forgotten chapel to a murdered god. Why are you here? A lost bet? A doomed quest for silver? Boredom? Does it even matter?

Workers of Paizo Unionize after harassment charges and work abuse. This makes them the first tabletop company to do so. Spire’s End, self-published by Greg Favro, is a card-based choose your own adventure in a small box. Tribe 8 is a post-apocalyptic RPG by Dream Pod 9 that was originally published in 1998. It is being re-released using the Forged in the Dark rules system created for Blades in the Dark. Tabletopy is a simple web app soundboard that can be used in a game session in a pinch, but Tabletop Audio is the premier, advertising free, user supported ambient game audio site on the web.

This will be a collaboration with Genuine Entertainament similar to the previous Alien RPG. Mutant Crawl Classics, the post apocalypse version of Dungeon Crawl Classics, is on Bundle of Holding. Funcom okays Star Anvil Studios to produce a Secret World TTRPG based on their original MMO.

This follows their dropped lawsuit with Wizards of the Coast for non-payment and contract violations. Into the Odd by Chris McDowall is getting a remaster by Free League on Kickstarter. SideQuest hopes to relieve the congestion of ZineQuest and let more creators creating zine based RPGs get attention. Cabinet Group, the rights holder of Conan the Barbarian, Mutant Year Zero and Solomon Kane are being acquired by Norway’s Funcom, develops of the first Conan MMORPG. He has also stepped away from his position. Duncan Rhodes, the former face of Warhammer painting tutorials, has moved out on his own and along with a YouTube channel is now releasing a new line of paints, named for his recurring advice of “Two Thin Coats”. Ed Greenwood, the creator of the Forgotten Realms, is releasing a new setting for 5E called Tanares. Avatar Legends has a massively successful Kickstarter that has now reached around $10million. Is this a huge success for Magpie Games or have they bitten of more then they can chew? The Weekly LIVE 103: Tome of Heroes, IP in RPGs, Tiny Library on KS and Blades in the Dark TV Series

Kobold Press collects all of their 5E material into Tome of Heroes. This will give players the choice of 10 new races and 50 subclasses. The new hardcover book is currently on Kickstarter and includes both new and previously published material. Omnichromatic Pirate Unicorn Games has published a guide to Intellectual Property in RPGs. It is currently pay-what-you-want on DriveThruPRG. This is a useful overview of what can be protected and what cannot in the world of RPG design and development. Tiny Library is also currently on Kickstarter. It is an anthology of TTRPGs that can be printed on a single standard size playing card (both sides) and all 50 games can be yours for US$10. John Harper, the creator of the Blades in the Dark RPG, recently tweeted that Warp Films is currently developing a TV series based his RPG setting. Evil Hat Publishes the RPG and no further details have been released regarding dates or platform. There have also been rumors of an Exalted TV series in development based on the RPG of the same name. Is this a new trend in mining ideas for the creatively bankrupt entertainment industry? Are comic books yesterday’s bananas? Remember the Fox TV series based on White Wolf’s Kindred: The Embraced?
