Let the Games begin! In this episode, we discuss how to run a game in a game. Sorry. I mean how to run a game in an RPG. Originally inspired by The Hunger Games, we decided to expand the idea so that this wasn’t just an hour of grown men gushing about a book written for teenage girls (Team Peeta!). Therefore, we included such “all man” sources as The Running Man.
Once upon a weeknight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over what Feat to choose for this RPG character I adore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a yapping,
As of some one rudely sapping, sapping energy galore.
“Tis Idle Red Hands,” I muttered, “flapping gums, those frightful bores –
Only this and nothing … (snore).”
Happy Halloween! For the last episode in our Month of Horror, we look at the American Gothic writer, Edgar Allen Poe.
We kick off our second annual Month of Horror with a look at ghosts. We examine some common themes and discuss how to use them as antagonists and protagonists. We also discover that any reality TV show can be made better by adding ghosts.
Lyal attempts some scary breathing this episode (I guess that’s what he was doing). We’ll get him to mute the microphone next time. While Lyal’s doing this, Chris and Wayne seem to forget that this is the Month of Horror.
This second installment of Magic is about divination and fortune-telling, but you probably already knew that. We also envision an introduction on using music to help prepare for games.
