We look at all the games currently available for the Mysthea universe by Tabula Games. This includes the original boardgame from their first Kickstarter, Mysthea, the follow-up, Icaion and the card game, Volfyirion. All sharing a very compelling scifi fantasy setting with amazing artwork by Travis Anderson. First, we look at the art book from the original game that contains the setting lore and illustrations. Unboxing the Warhammer 40k Shadowspear box set. This box leads up to the Vigilus campaign and contains Primaris Ultramarines versus Dark Legion. The Librarian in Phobos armor and the new daemon engine, the Venomcrawler, are the most notable part of the new miniatures. These are all new original sculpts and no repackaged sprues from previous releases. It contains a campaign book and two mini codexes. This refreshes a tired line of chaos space marine sculpts and gives the Phobos keyword more use for the Primaris.

The latest Awaken Realms miniatures boardgame, Nemesis, has the very familiar sci-fi setting of a crew stranded on a xenomorph infested space ship. Although it is cooperative, each player has both a personal and corporate secret agenda that are part of their victory conditions. So when a player tells you that the engines are working or that you are totally headed to Earth, you might want to see for yourself. The latest gigantic boardgame offering from Cool Mini Or Not, based on Adrian Smith’s graphic novel Chronicles of Hate, HATE: the boardgame. It pits player tribes against each other for control of the lands by taking it from other tribes in raids and combat. Does it live up to the hype? Are the miniatures as amazing as we hoped? We take a look at the Star Trek Adventures Starter Set by Modiphius. It includes pre-generated character sheets, a ship sheet, dice, tokens, maps, and a starting adventure campaign. It uses the 2d20 system with threat and momentum as currency mechanics for both players and the gamemaster. This is a much more accessible option for trying the game and will get you playing right out of the box.

Have a look inside the starter box for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. A great place to start for players new to the hobby. It includes a starter rules booklet, pre-generated characters, a campaign booklet and quite nice dice. All in a mysteriously spacious box!

We unbox the latest RPG from Free League published in English by Modiphius, Forbidden Lands. A new take on fantasy where players are rogues and raiders, in it only for themselves, in a magically cursed land. The game is a sandbox style adventure played over a hex-based map. This is the core box and the Kickstarter extras.
