Wargames Atlantic’s CEO, Hudson Adams, has revealed his true identity as Tony Reidy, a figure previously associated with two troubled miniature wargames companies, Wargames Factory and Defiance Games. Reidy founded Wargames Factory in 2007/8 with the goal of producing hard plastic figures faster and cheaper using an all-digital tooling process. However, the company faced numerous challenges, including quality issues, delays, and a problematic deal with a Chinese factory owner who eventually took control and rebranded the company. After years of working to pay down debts and process the past, Reidy, under the new identity of Hudson Adams, founded Wargames Atlantic in 2018. His motivation was to build a successful company and, eventually, to make good on the failed Defiance Games Kickstarter. Now, after six years of Wargames Atlantic’s operation, Reidy has announced that the company is in a position to refund the original Defiance Games Kickstarter backers.

Steamforged Games is releasing a new Warmachine Core Book, available for pre-order at $44.99 and releasing on December 11, 2025. This 140+ page hardback includes rules, lore, and artwork for the Iron Kingdoms setting. There are also free Quick Start Guides, Rules-Only PDFs, and a Warmachine App available.

The Avatar Legends 20th Anniversary Humble Bundle offers physical items for the Avatar Legends RPG, including a starter set, dice pack, cloth map, dice bag, GM screen, and journal pack for $49. The bundle celebrates the 20th anniversary of Avatar: The Last Airbender and benefits charity.

Mantic Digital has announced an upcoming Digital Campaign for Epic Warpath, revealing that STL files for core troops will now be available to backers. Previous STL backers will receive a special discounted bundle for extra files at £5/army. The Warpath Universe is a sci-fi setting where factions battle across galaxies, and this digital STL campaign aims to empower players to build and print their armies at a grand scale.

Many fans of Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) who preordered the 2024 Player’s Handbook recently had their orders canceled without a clear explanation. Customers reported receiving emails stating their payment didn’t go through, even though some had been charged. The issue primarily affected those who paid via PayPal, particularly for the physical copies of the game. Wizards of the Coast (WotC), which had promoted preorders for months, is aware of the problem. DnD community manager LaTia Jacquise asked affected customers to file support tickets, and some have received emails promising to resolve the issue. With the release date of September 17 fast approaching, many fans are anxious about whether they will receive their books on time or if they’ll lose their preorder discounts.

A fundraiser has been set up for Paul Sawyer, a well-known figure in the wargaming community, who was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma. His family is seeking to make his final months as comfortable as possible by raising money for necessary disability aids and home adaptations. Paul, a legend in the wargaming world, is widely remembered for his contributions to White Dwarf magazine and his role at Warlord Games. The GoFundMe page, created by his daughter, Holly Sawyer, has received overwhelming support, with many sharing fond memories of Paul’s influence on their hobby.

The creators of the popular tabletop RPG TEETH, Jim Rossignol and Marsh Davies, have announced their next project, GOLD TEETH. This piracy and occult horror-themed RPG is set in the Caribbean in 1781, blending supernatural dangers with naval combat and adventure. Warlord Games has announced the launch of their first board game Kickstarter, Vanguard: Normandy, set for release on October 1st. Developed by the Bolt Action team, the game offers a one-to-four-player World War II experience. With a dice activation system and epic-scale miniatures, the game brings variety through its hex-map-based battlefields. Players can enjoy a dedicated solo-play mode, making it ideal for both solo and multiplayer sessions. While the miniatures don’t require assembly or painting, some players expressed disappointment with prototype quality, particularly with the infantry and tank models. The Expanse Roleplaying Game: Transport Union Edition by Green Ronin Publishing is a new edition that expands the RPG universe set between Babylon’s Ashes and Persepolis Rising. The campaign offers an updated core rulebook, additional supplements, miniatures, and accessories. Newcomers can enjoy easy-to-learn gameplay, while veterans will find enhanced character options, spaceships, and adversaries. The 30-year gap between novels provides rich material for storytelling. The campaign includes early backer bonuses, and various pledge tiers offer everything from physical books to virtual tabletop (VTT) support. Green Ronin also introduced miniatures, expanding the immersive RPG experience with customizable Expanse crew and spaceship models.

Chaosium Inc. has announced the return of ElfQuest: The Roleplaying Game, in collaboration with the comic series’ creators, Wendy and Richard Pini. First released in 1984, the RPG uses the Basic Roleplaying System (BRP) and will be reissued as part of Chaosium’s Classic series. The re-release will include the original artwork by Wendy Pini and all the 1984 supplements. A Kickstarter campaign will launch in October 2024 to commemorate the game’s 40th anniversary, aiming to reintroduce ElfQuest to both old and new fans.

Wargames Atlantic has many highly detailed plastic box sets (37 and counting) They have just announced Atlantic Digital. This new program will release a mix of new products for all 11 of their current ranges (9 historical ranges, Classic Fantasy, and Death Fields). These products will be spread across the following categories: full multi-part sets, character figures, conversion parts for existing plastic sets, terrain, and vehicles. The STLs files will be released via a MyMiniFactory Tribe with a monthly membership Individual STL files and file sets sold via MyMiniFactory and soon on their website Physical manufactured models through Only-Game. Melsonian Arts Council has announced a new softcover sourcebook as part of a crowdfunding campaign that offers curious newcomers one of the best ports of entry into the science-fantasy game of decidedly British absurdism and adventure. The softback edition also function as a fold-out facilitator screen during play. The text of the rules will be nestled on the right-hand side, while all other real estate will contain graphs, tables and rules reminders.

Wizards of the Coast may be outlawing third-party homebrew content in its upcoming evergreen edition. This unconfirmed rumor would mean players would be unable to legally publish homebrew content for One D&D. According to the leak, Wizards of the Coast does not plan on using the Open Game License to create a new free-to-access Systems Reference Document for One D&D. If Wizards of the Coast were to discontinue the OGL, players would not be able to legally publish third-party homebrew using the One D&D ruleset.

Wizards of the Coast has a new process for reviewing their material before it’s published. According to a new blog post from Chris Perkins, the D&D Studio is in the process of changing its review process, after fans raised concerns about offensive material present in Spelljammer: Adventures from Space. 

Archon Studios is crowdfunding a board game based on the 1999 Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia PC game. The Polish studio has a record of successfully crowdfunding miniatures-heavy board games from both licensed IPs and original properties. The list of video games made into board game continues to grow.
