Dungeons and Dragons is coming to television with an official actual play show. It will be streaming on Twitch and the G4 website as well as the G4 cable channel on November 22. Purging of the Crucible is a new adventure available for the 2d20 Mutant Chronicles RPG. It will be available from Modiphius as a PDF and also shortly available as a print on demand 74-page colour softcover book. Southeast Asian tabletop designers and artists, Centaur Games, behind the A Thousand Thousand Islands have launched a Kickstarter for their first full-length tabletop RPG campaign book, Reach of the Roach God. Paizo President apologies for user data breach. Bundle of Holding revives the August 2016 Tribe 8 Bundle, featuring much of the Tribe 8 product line in beautiful new versions from Dream Pod 9.

Broken Token fires half of their staff as “necessary changes” after a string of contract withdrawals based on accusations of power abuse by former employees against the CEO. He has also stepped away from his position. Duncan Rhodes, the former face of Warhammer painting tutorials, has moved out on his own and along with a YouTube channel is now releasing a new line of paints, named for his recurring advice of “Two Thin Coats”. Ed Greenwood, the creator of the Forgotten Realms, is releasing a new setting for 5E called Tanares. Avatar Legends has a massively successful Kickstarter that has now reached around $10million. Is this a huge success for Magpie Games or have they bitten of more then they can chew? Salvatore, creator of Drizzt, admits to being guilty of the fantasy genre’s original sin. The outgoing head of Fantasy Flight Games admits to blindly supporting games with weak expansions and with no plans for a complete experience. Can they do better? Games Workshop Clarifies their intellectual property rules and is doing to their fan animators what we suspected all along. The Weekly LIVE 095: TSR Museum and Distancing, Game Shipping Costs More and Dukk Borg

We discuss the Lake Geneva Dugeon Hobby Shop museum set to open, or at least get a new parking lot and curator. Also, the list of professionals and events that are distancing themselves from the new TSR grows. Cargo shipping rates are up 300 to 400 percent currently. This is putting pressure on board game companies to shoulder that expense if it is temporary or pass it on to the customers. Probably the likely move. The solution would be stop printing boardgames in China, but why would anyone do that? Finally, for an escape for the ugliness we take a look at Dukk Borg by Gem Room Games and Nerdy Paper Games. A Mork Borg compatible game that combines dark metal and DuckTales. Anything that celebrates death metal aesthetics and Carl Barks influenced duck characters is worth a look.

The Weekly LIVE 089: G4 Teams up with D&D, Warhammer Animation Preview and Frosthaven Designer Makes Changes

G4, that gaming network that no one knew still existed, is teaming up with Dungeons and Dragons to broadcast D&D Live, an update to the annual campaign storyline. They are also threatening to get involved with Warhammer Live and Magic: The Gathering. Should be fun. Games Workshop is holding a live event to promote the progress of their animation projects. No details ahead of the event. That’s it. Hope we can see more than another set of trailers. Another solo livestream, because these are times we live in. Chris will be back soon. In the meantime, I discuss the Quests of Yore TTRPG starter set based on the Disney/Pixar film, Onward. Quests of Yore: Barley’s Edition is a boxed set that contains everything you need to play this original game as seen in the movie. Jeff Goldblum is playing an elf sorcerer in an actual play series called, Dark Dice. The production values seem high, but will this celebrity voice add to the experience? Writers and Artists guilds untie to #MakeDisneyPay following the settlement with Alan Dean Foster and his missing royalty payments. And finally, the Dungeons and Dragons movie reboot begins filming, aiming for a spring 2023 release. We have heard the cast, but have no idea about the script. Can Hugh Grant chew the scenery as well as Jeremy Irons? Find out in a few years.

Mantic releases second edition public playtest rules for Firefight. Broken Tales by The World Anvil now has an English language quickstart in advance of their May Kickstarter campaign. The Ruins of Symbaroum for 5E is now on Kickstarter bringing the dark fantasy setting by Free League to the world’S greatest roleplaying game. Will it be a good thing for the game by broadening its audience?

The Weekly 082: Warframe RPG Cancelled, Auroboros RPG by Warchief and Dante’s Inferno 5E

We discuss the cancellation of the Frame RPG by Spencer Campbell on Kickstarter after the fanbase attacks. The first release by former Blizzard execs, Warchief Gaming, is Auroboros for 5E. Also on Kickstarter to celebrate the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri, Acheron Books is releasing Dante’s Inferno for 5E. It will include two books, Dante’s Guide to Hell essentially the Player’s Handbook and Virgilio’s Untold Tales which functions as the GM’s Guide and Monster Manual of the setting.
