Dungeons and Dragons is coming to television with an official actual play show. It will be streaming on Twitch and the G4 website as well as the G4 cable channel on November 22. Purging of the Crucible is a new adventure available for the 2d20 Mutant Chronicles RPG. It will be available from Modiphius as a PDF and also shortly available as a print on demand 74-page colour softcover book. Southeast Asian tabletop designers and artists, Centaur Games, behind the A Thousand Thousand Islands have launched a Kickstarter for their first full-length tabletop RPG campaign book, Reach of the Roach God. Paizo President apologies for user data breach. Bundle of Holding revives the August 2016 Tribe 8 Bundle, featuring much of the Tribe 8 product line in beautiful new versions from Dream Pod 9.

The Weekly LIVE 110 – Paizo Unionizes, Spire’s End Card Game, Tribe 8 Reforged in the Dark and Tabletopy Fantasy Audio

Workers of Paizo Unionize after harassment charges and work abuse. This makes them the first tabletop company to do so. Spire’s End, self-published by Greg Favro, is a card-based choose your own adventure in a small box. Tribe 8 is a post-apocalyptic RPG by Dream Pod 9 that was originally published in 1998. It is being re-released using the Forged in the Dark rules system created for Blades in the Dark. Tabletopy is a simple web app soundboard that can be used in a game session in a pinch, but Tabletop Audio is the premier, advertising free, user supported ambient game audio site on the web.

The Weekly LIVE 090 – Warhammer Plus Announced, Netflix Wants to Make Games and Hybrid GenCon 2021

Games Workshop announced the platform for their eleven animated series. Warhammer Plus. No further details given until next month, neither price nor additional content. Netflix is actively looking into developing games and has approached veteran game designs. After the failure of Amazon, owner of Twitch, to become a game developer, it doesn’t make much sense. Finally, Asmodee and Paizo announced they will not attend the physical event in Indianapolis, but will provide virtual supports with online gaming sessions and Livestreams. There will also be PopUp GenCon support at local game stores.

The Weekly 061: Hellboy RPG, Alexa Play Starfinder, 2020 Ennies, Star Trek 2d20, and Masters of the Universe RPG

Following the miniatures skirmish boardgame, Mantic is following up with a Hellboy TTPRG designed by Marc Langworthy of Red Scar Publishing. It will launch on Kickstarter and be powered by 5E of the World’s Greatest Role-playing Game. Amazon releases Starfinder audio game for Alexa. Featuring the voices of Nathan Fillion and Laura Bailey. GenCon Online releases the winners of the 2020 Ennie awards. Again this year Free League is a big winner with the Alien RPG and Mörk Borg. Thousand Year Old Vampire and Ironsworn Delve were also winners. As of this release, the Star Trek 2d20 Humble Bundle is now concluded, but the PDFs are available on DriveThruRPG and the free quickstart is on the Modiphius store. The Masters of the Universe going to be a pen and paper RPG power by Cortex Prime. Legends of Grayskull will be published in 2021 and will include a 250-page hardcover guidebook with pull-out maps, a digital companion, a community content creation and sharing platform, and an organized play program.

Amazon now lets you play the Starfinder RPG with Alexa simply by saying “Alexa, play Starfinder” and eventually paying for the privilege. Werewolf Fifth Edition is coming in 2021. Cool Mini or Not Kickstarted a Zombicide version of Night of the Living Dead. Just because. C’mon! We played the Hope’s Last Day cinematic adventure for the Alien RPG. Games Workshop is bringing back the Old World of Warhammer Fantasy Battles… in a few years. It will be the Horus Heresy of Age of Sigmar. The main difference being Horus didn’t end the universe. Kathleen Kennedy remains willfully ignorant of the Star Wars Expanded Universe as a source for inspiration for new films. Charlie’s Angels came and went without notice. Elizabeth Banks, the director, blames men. As you do. White Wolf’s Aberrant – Aeon Trinity Continuum makes you cut. Lyal pledged Cyberpapacy for TORG, continuing his streak. Battletech opens the pledgemanager for Clan Invasion. Jeremy fails to sell Lyal on the Trophy RPG by recounting their session last Saturday. Pathfinder First Edition Humble Bundle includes digital comics as well. We discuss the choice of the system, playing horror in an RPG, Sean Astin’s involvement in the project, the Grimmerspace setting and setting-specific character classes and technology.
