Paizo has announced a digital toolset for Pathfinder 2E in collaboration with Demiplane. Planned release is early 2022. Adam Bradford who previous helped create D&D Beyond for 5E is leading the development. Humble Bundle has a huge Warhammer Fantasy 2E and 4E bundle from Cubicle7. This is the first time the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay second edition rulebook has been officially available digitally. A new version of Mork Borg is headed to Kickstarter. Cy_Borg is the cyberpunk very of the dark metal rules light system. This will give player the chance to darken up their scifi and cyberpunk roleplay. Although, cyberpunk could never be accused of being a cheery and optimistic setting. Plus the switch from balck metal to dark synthwave should be pretty effortless. And finally, what class and alignment would Bug Bunny be in Dungeons & Dragons. We were told back in 1981 and must have forgotten.

MÖRK BORG is a blackened artpunk doomsday rpg about miserable bastards and heretics enduring a bleak, dying world. It’s a doom metal album of a game. A spiked flail to the face. Rules light, heavy everything else. It’s made by Pelle Nilsson of Ockult Örtmästare Games and Johan Nohr from Stockholm Kartell, and published by Free League Publishing.

PUTRESCENCE REGNANT is a MÖRK BORG bog crawl in LP vinyl format, yellow and black marbled. The gatefold cover doubles up as an impromptu GM screen with a map of Targ-Dungel, rules for traveling, capsizing and drowning, information about the roaming undead bog bodies and a random encounter table for each of the three distinct sections of the bog: The Royal Swamps, Killer’s Moor and The Rotlands.

Included in the record is also an 8-page insert full of content such as a map and description of the swamp hamlet Traurish, circa 20 minor locations as well as the three factions and their dwellings. Adding to this are creatures, swamp gas, foul smells and soggy death for hours upon hours of rotten gaming. The text will be written by Johan Nohr and Pelle Nilsson, and edited by Brian Yaksha of Rakehell fame. Before we call it a day, the relentless typo-hunters from MoonRat Conspiracy Jarrett Crader and Fiona Maeve Geist will dig into the text to ensure that no errors still lurk in the muck.

Treasures Of The Troll King: a MÖRK BORG Adventure is an RPG sewer-crawl adventure by Chris Bissette, with art by Johan Nohr. Galgenbeck is palimpsest. Tumour. A city built on the ruins of itself. Beneath the sewers the bones of the old city fester. The troll-king Niduk was exiled, driven into the depths to rot and die. Now twisted by hatred and rage he oversees the small domain he has carved for himself, in a forgotten chapel to a murdered god. Why are you here? A lost bet? A doomed quest for silver? Boredom? Does it even matter?

Creators of Dragonlance are developing a new setting called Skyraiders of Abarax. Tracy and Laura Hickman are xreating the awtting using athe 5E SRD and their unique “Living Tome System”. This follows their dropped lawsuit with Wizards of the Coast for non-payment and contract violations. Into the Odd by Chris McDowall is getting a remaster by Free League on Kickstarter. SideQuest hopes to relieve the congestion of ZineQuest and let more creators creating zine based RPGs get attention. Cabinet Group, the rights holder of Conan the Barbarian, Mutant Year Zero and Solomon Kane are being acquired by Norway’s Funcom, develops of the first Conan MMORPG. Cubicle 7 is releasing Victoriana, one of their first RPGs for 5E. With Games Workshop preferring eBay to your FLGS, exit that queue and back the new expansion for Forbidden Psalm, a miniatures skirmish game using the setting of the Mork Borg TTRPG. WotC is playtesting Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos, based on the Magic: The Gathering cars set and stinking of Hogwarts. Finally, comicbook publisher, Magnetic Press, is getting into game publishing. They are planning releases to support their comics series, starting with Carbon Grey. The Weekly LIVE 095: TSR Museum and Distancing, Game Shipping Costs More and Dukk Borg

We discuss the Lake Geneva Dugeon Hobby Shop museum set to open, or at least get a new parking lot and curator. Also, the list of professionals and events that are distancing themselves from the new TSR grows. Cargo shipping rates are up 300 to 400 percent currently. This is putting pressure on board game companies to shoulder that expense if it is temporary or pass it on to the customers. Probably the likely move. The solution would be stop printing boardgames in China, but why would anyone do that? Finally, for an escape for the ugliness we take a look at Dukk Borg by Gem Room Games and Nerdy Paper Games. A Mork Borg compatible game that combines dark metal and DuckTales. Anything that celebrates death metal aesthetics and Carl Barks influenced duck characters is worth a look.

The Weekly 086: Humble Bundle Split Change, Starforged on Kickstarter, Warner Bros. Quits Physical Media and Forbidden Psalm

The three sliders that adjust the revenue split for Humble Bundle disappears. Charities can now only receive a maximum of 15% Ironsworn: Starforged, the scifi stand-alone sequel to Ironsworn, appears on Kickstarter. Jerry Beck, an animation historian, let slip that Warner Bros. appears to be moving away from physical media starting in 2022. That means no more DVD or Blu-ray discs and a pivot toward streaming platforms like their own HBO Max. Is this just for animation or is this the future? What if tabletop RPGs moved away from physical media? Fobidden Psalm is a tabletop 28mm miniatures game inspired and compatible with MÖRK BORG. It is miniatures agnostic and all of the content can also be used in the MÖRK BORG TTRPG. We also discuss the Monster Hunter boardgame by Steamforged Games that just ended on Kickstarter.

The Weekly 065: Return of Heroquest, Honey & Hot Wax, Create for Mork Bork, 5E Racial Ability Rules Changes and the Year of Dune

Hasbro has revealed their plans to “reprint” Heroquest through their HasLab crowd-funding-like website. Honey & Hot Wax is an anthology of sex-positive roleplaying games. The collection of games varies from 2-player to games needing 6 to 12 players along with a facilitator or two. It is published by Pelgrane Press and was edited by Lucian Kahn and Sharang Biswas with a foreword by Naomi Clark of Consentacle. An open license for creating content for Mork Borg, the award-winning game published by Free League. The latest Adventurer’s League Guide contains new custom racial ability score rules. This gives us a preview of the new rules that Wizards of the Coast will be adding to 5E in the release of Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything coming soon. We lament the failure of 2020 as the year of Dune, with only the boardgame reprint being released while the Denis Villeneuve feature film and Modiphius 2d20 system will not be released until next year.

The Weekly 061: Hellboy RPG, Alexa Play Starfinder, 2020 Ennies, Star Trek 2d20, and Masters of the Universe RPG

Following the miniatures skirmish boardgame, Mantic is following up with a Hellboy TTPRG designed by Marc Langworthy of Red Scar Publishing. It will launch on Kickstarter and be powered by 5E of the World’s Greatest Role-playing Game. Amazon releases Starfinder audio game for Alexa. Featuring the voices of Nathan Fillion and Laura Bailey. GenCon Online releases the winners of the 2020 Ennie awards. Again this year Free League is a big winner with the Alien RPG and Mörk Borg. Thousand Year Old Vampire and Ironsworn Delve were also winners. As of this release, the Star Trek 2d20 Humble Bundle is now concluded, but the PDFs are available on DriveThruRPG and the free quickstart is on the Modiphius store. The Masters of the Universe going to be a pen and paper RPG power by Cortex Prime. Legends of Grayskull will be published in 2021 and will include a 250-page hardcover guidebook with pull-out maps, a digital companion, a community content creation and sharing platform, and an organized play program.

Idle Red Hands Weekly 044; Altered Carbon RPG, Mörk Borg, Cleric Love Domain, Ironsworn Solo RPG

Altered Carbon is getting an RPG setting and a second season on Netflix. Hot Topic now has Critical Role gear. Mörk Borg by Stockholm Kartell, is being released by Free League’s new boutique imprint. The Love Domain for Clerics in 5E fails miserably and is being retooled. Ironsworn is a FREE TTRPG with co-op, solo and campaign modes. Foreign television dramas with subtitles help immerse you and give you great campaign setting ideas. We have some recommendations.
